When you arrive at Sarajevo International Airport, your driver will be waiting for you, carrying a sign with the name of your group or the name of your tour leader, ready to take you to your Sarajevo hotel. Checking into your hotel. The afternoon or evening will be designated for panoramic Sarajevo sightseeing and a guided walking tour of Sarajevo Old Town. The Old Town was built in the 15th century by the Ottoman Empire and combines Ottoman and Austro- Hungarian architecture on the east and west sides. Symbolizing the meeting of East and West cultures. DAY 2:
SPRING OF THE BOSNA & TREBEVIĆ MOUNTAIN
SPRING OF THE BOSNA & TREBEVIĆ MOUNTAIN
In the morning after breakfast, we will be heading to the natural park “Vrelo Bosne”. The Vrelo Bosne is a famous natural outdoor monument in the nation, including the source of the River Bosna and offering a peaceful, pleasant getaway. The 603-hectare Vrelo Bosne natural monument is located near Ilida, approximately 15 kilometers from Sarajevo’s downtown, at the foot of the Igman mountain. The region is well-known for its exceptional freshly caught river trout, which you will be able to experience for lunch at a local restaurant in the complex’s center. In the afternoon, Heading to Trebević. When in Sarajevo, it’s hard to miss the majestic Trebević mountain that proudly stands on the southern side, with its iconic TV tower perched on top. Trebević, often referred to as the “lungs of Sarajevo”, is conveniently located just a cable car ride away from the heart of the Old Town. Experience the tranquility of the breathtaking Trebovic mountains and forests. Consider taking a ride on the Trebevic cable car. DAY 3:
MOSTAR
MOSTAR
In the morning, after breakfast, we will head towards Mostar, a two-hour drive from Sarajevo. Mostar is the most prominent city in Herzegovina settled next to the Neretva River. It emanates history and cultural legacy, as well as stunning ancient architecture, the most well-known of which is the Old Bridge (Stari Most) and the tradition of divers plunging into the Neretva River. Beautiful river stone lanes run both sides of the Old Bridge, full of Ottoman Empire-style boutiques selling artisan products and various restaurants providing traditional Herzegovinian food. If you enjoy shopping, Mostar is a great place to shop. In the evening, we will travel to the city’s most famous viewpoint, Fortica. Fortica, a hill located above Mostar, not only gives a view of the entire city, but you can also find a warm and friendly café on Fortica and sip coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, as well as local beer, vine and a wide variety of local cuisine. Blagaj In the morning, after breakfast, we will head to Blagaj.Blagaj, Herzegovina’s gem, is rich in historical and architectural sites like as the ancient fortress, Buna Spring, Velagić House, and so on. Today, a city founded during the Roman Empire reflects antiquity. In the surrounding area, there are 17th-century Ottoman architectural styles, the Sultan’s Sulejman Mosque, the Karađozbeg Bridge on the Buna River, and the Hamam, which was built during the 16th and 17th centuries. The Dervish Tekija house from the 16th century appears to float between rocks and water on the right side of the river, in a stunning scene that only nature can create. Počitelj. Over the centuries, the river has become home to a multitude of settlements and cities, including the remnants of ancient civilizations that date back thousands of years. The river was named Una by the Romans, signifying its uniqueness. Discover the breathtaking beauty of the Una River, with its majestic mountain springs and cascading waterfalls. Marvel at the wonders of Martin Brod, Štrbački buk, Padaj Troslap, Dvoslap, and The Ripper. National Park Una The National Park Una, is one of the largest national parks in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The National Park Una is known for great hiking, beautiful mountains, undiscovered caves, historic castles, and his majesty, the impressive Strbački buk waterfall, a towering waterfall that reaches a height of 24.5 meters. Place to relax next to the river and hike. Cazin (Ostrozac Castle) Breakfast and departure for Cazin. A town right next to Bihać, recognizable for the hospitality and kindness of its inhabitants, as well as for the old town of Ostrožac. When you explore the rich history of Bosnia and Herzegovina and look for their most important monuments, the Ostrozac Castle is one of them. This national monument dates back to the 16th century during the Ottoman rule in these areas and is the only recognized castle in all of Bosnia and Herzegovina. A unique fortress whose walls were ruled by princes, beys, and counts. Bosanska Krupa Next stop Bosanska Krupa. For lovers of nature and clean rivers, Bosanska Krupa is a must-see. The city is located northwest of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the valley of Una and Krušnica River, one of the most impressive and progressive cities along the Una River. Bosanska Krupa is known for its Green Islands, pristine rivers, hiking, and fishing. The islands are a series of river islands (Ada), which can be reached by a large wooden footbridge, and the islands themselves (Ada) are connected by many small bridges. Bliha Waterfalls Following breakfast, we are preparing ourselves for our journey back to Sarajevo. However, one of the highlights of the trip is the breathtaking Bliha waterfalls, located on our way to Sarajevo. The Bliha waterfall, a natural gem located near Sanski Most, is one of the big attractions in the region. Enjoy the untouched nature and the magnificent view of the 56-meter-high and ten-meter-wide waterfall. Visitors can enjoy a walk around the waterfall, one of the most impressive in BiH, and experience the peace and freshness that nature offers. There is also the possibility of picnicking on the river bank or exploring the surrounding areas and nature trails. Jajce The next stop on the way to Sarajevo is Jajce. Jajce is a royal city located at the mouth of the Pliva River with its lakes and waterfalls. It is the only city in the world with a waterfall in the very center of the city. The Old Town is a fortress from the 13th century and is home to several monuments, such as the Catacombs, Omer Bey’s house, the Old Town, the Church of St. Mary, the Temple of Mithras, and the Tower of St. Luke.
